Delano Sookha
Delano studied audiovisual design and photography at The Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam.
He furthered his craft in filmmaking at The London International Film School. Having a feel for the moment and a strong visual sense he soon managed to appeal to the artists of the MTV generation. Some of the artist and brands he has directed films for include: Nike, Jimmy Choo, Gap, Zegna, Louis Vuitton, Heineken, Puma, Deutsche Bank, Paco Rabanne, Mercedes Benz and Lenny Kravitz, to name a few. With a keen interest in human behaviour , his protagonists often exist at the edge of their sanity.
An exploration of what it means to be human. It’s where he believes the
most interesting things happen. Captured in a visual language that reflects his love for colourful and graphic imagery combined with elegant and fashionable production design and styling.
Combining his visual aesthetic and music video rhythm with short form storytelling. His work has been nominated and awarded prizes at the MTV VMA, Viva Awards, Eurobest, TMF Awards, Cannes Lions and EVMA. His 2021 short film 'The Colour Of Spinach' has been selected for the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, Buenos Aires Fashion Film Festival and received selections/nominations at the Shortcutz festival and Sarajevo Fashion Film Festival.
