Muratek Ryskulov

He was born on November 23 (December 6) 1909 (according to other sources, December 1 or 1899) in the village of Chaek (according to other sources, in the villages of Kairma or Karoy) (now in the Jumgal district of Naryn region, Kyrgyzstan) into a poor peasant family. He was a collective farm worker. From 1936, he was part of the troupe at the Kyrgyz Musical and Dramatic Theater (now the Kyrgyz State Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev, Bishkek). At the same time, he studied at the studio associated with the theater, graduating in 1937. Since 1941, he was an actor at the Kyrgyz Drama Theater (now the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater named after T. Abdymomunov, Bishkek). He began acting in films in 1949. For many years, until his death, he headed the Kyrgyz Theatrical Society without interruption. He was a member and chairman of the jury for many creative reviews. He was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR for the 5th to 8th convocations. He participated in the plenums and congresses of the CPSU Central Committee and the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR, and was a member of the Committee for Lenin and State Prizes of the USSR under the USSR Council of Ministers. He passed away on February 1, 1974, in Frunze (now Bishkek) and was buried at the Ala-Archa Cemetery.
