Kevin Saunderson

Kevin Saunderson

American electronic music producer and DJ Kevin Saunderson, born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1964, is reputed as a versatile techno stalwart, as well as one of the originators of the genre. Matriculating within the storied Belleville Three (consisting of him, Derrick May and Juan Atkins) in his early years, around 1984 he kicked off his deejaying career. His company KMS Records was formed in 1986. Two years later, his collaboration with vocalist Paris Grey, the single "Big Fun," ascended the Top Ten chart in England. His techno-pop act Inner City's debut album, also titled Big Fun, (or in the U.K., Paradise) was released by Virgin Records in '89. Inner City charted on Great Britain's Top 40 eight times and topped the U.S. dance chart four times, releasing four proper studio albums. Saunderson has recorded under various other aliases, including the Reese Project, E-Dancer and Tronik House, while KMS Records has released techno music to the present day.
