When a closeted Chinese-Australian cellist hijacks her family's Moon Festival to come out through song, her confession detonates buried secrets that force her entire family to choose between tradition and truth. Lydia, a reserved Chinese-Australian cellist, is harbouring a secret so terrifying it makes her physically sick-she's a lesbian, and coming out could get her disowned. When her father returns home from working overseas for the Moon Festival, her girlfriend insists this is her only chance, but Lydia is paralysed by fear. With unexpected support from her Spielberg wannabe younger brother, Lydia abandons her traditional cello performance to sing a raw confession to her entire family. Her coming out fractures the room-but more devastatingly, it triggers the revelation of another long-buried family secret.
